Be sure you have a clear mission for the WSC. Is it to get the best teams/players in the state competing against each other and having quality tournaments/competition for the advanced players or is it to compete against the current sanctions and there state championship? As your current plan - teams can still play all the same tournaments without paying the WSC fees. To me there would be no incentive to join the WSC just for the end of the year championship.
I think the incentive to get quality teams and players to your circuit if that is what your goal is, is to have a better product - quality tournaments with better and consistent rules and organization, along with better competition and fairer payouts etc.,.

Its unfortunate you don't see a incentive of joining the WSC and trying to grow the game in this state. I do not have 10k to throw at this to go to all the tournament directors and say do it this way or else. I am not a organization who has that kind of authority. What we will provide is a circuit which you can play events that teams already play with a better structure. This will also help local tournaments draw more teams which helps everyone(more teams more $ better payouts more comptetition etc). I know everyone wants to have it done a certain way and I appreciate everyones input, and am listening. ASA is dying, NSA is dying, USSSA is dead in this state. I am trying to do something that I feel can benefit players of this state and taking alot of time to do that. Its going to take teams and players and people who don't agree with every single rule or thing we do to jump on board believe in how great this could be and do it. Its certainly wont be perfect the first year, but we will try to put on a first class event. Without that support like ever other organized softball event in this area this will die too.

Maybe the existing tournament directors of some of these proposed WSC events could say if they would abide by the rules put forth by the WSC. I think it would be in there best interest to do so because they will in turn get more teams into there tournaments. If they can draw 6 to 8 more teams than they did for the event last year that would be beneficial to them (more food and beer sales too).

I am working on getting tournaments to follow the WSC rules but I know all of them will not, and there is no difference between upper and lower during the season just at the WSC finals. So HR rules will be different. Unfortunately some people want results before they change. Like i've said all along year one will be a building year. It won't be perfect.

I really like where this is going. I'm on board to help any way that I can. After reading all of this there was a few little things that stood out. First, if the plan is to have less than 10 tournaments, I think we could find 10 decent tournaments that have the same rules. HR rules will most likely have to differ pending the location, unless all fields are the same size? As far as bat/ball list, I would like to see just ASA. The fact is, if you want mid level teams or up and coming teams, they simply don'y have NSA sticks yet....usually. ASA is the dominant bat list used here so that makes sense to me. I agree with the circuit buy in. As long as that money is being utilized 100% into growing this and EOY payouts. Starting something like this is not going to be easy or cheap to do. I think teams that would join this should understand that what is going on here is not as cheap as it sounds. My hopes for this are that it will grow the sport into what it used to be. I think it is possible, but it will take mass amounts of organizing, planning, and moola for this to thrive.

Without money or a financial reason to copy and use the same rules some tournament directors are not gonna change their rules, not until I can show them that there are 32 teams in this circuit and they all have to play in these X tournaments. For now people are going to have to be more into some weekends will be different. Its ok there is nothing wrong with that. I will do everything I can to get as many the same rules. For bats during the year it doesn't really matter USSSA vs ASA some parks like loggers will use NSA thats ok though for the finals it will be ASA. So to me the bigger battle is to get 32 teams signed up. But we are on our way. I will have flyer out soon. We have also set up a website. www.wisconsinsoftballcircuit.com. Check it out!

Tournaments for 2012 Circuit (tentative) Comotose Early Bird Clinton Lower class (I know its only for lower teams) HRH One day easter tourney (double points for any lower team making the upper) KA Burghardts TM Lions Fest Sussex Lions Daze Patrone's West Mke Loggers Park' Kenosha Rotary(yes might only be for kenosha teams) Venom Ox and Cats Arpin (double points for up north event) La Crosse Stars of yesterday (double points for a western event)
Anyone who runs a tournament who would like to have theirs put in the circuit, let me know. Depending on if we get teams from western WI, Sparta's tournaments and some up there would be added. Possibly events in stevens point and marshfield.

Maybe I am missing something here or I am just dumb , but why are these being done at existing tourneys ? Would it be that difficult to set up separate circuit tourneys ? Why couldn't these be set up like nsa or asa type tourneys ? That way you could set the rules how you would like to have them without fighting with tourney directors. just my .02

Arpinsoftball you aren't dumb. I don't have the manpower or the money to establish all brand new tournaments. Its a nice idea but my team still plays and alot and don't have any interest in not playing on that team to run tournaments. Using current tournaments does alot it not only brings more interest in these events but it helps directors get more teams and draw more revenue for them. Ideally it would be great to have 10 circuit tournaments just dedicated to circuit teams but we don't have one team paid let alone 32 for 2012. When we have a full circuit then I believe things like that can be done
Ben-Shoot me a email when you get a chance. We would love to have your event.

Depending on if we get teams from western WI, Sparta's tournaments and some up there would be added. I think depending on if you add those tournaments will determine if teams from Western WI will get in. . . It is difficult to assemble and travel 3 hours to play ball, if you want this to be state wide, you need to get state wide tournaments involved.
