The two bucket idea works real well. It started at the Majors USSSA tournament in the fall of 2009. where there were serous bat issue. I followed those game very closely and passed that info onto a number of people including our WI ASA commissioner. I have a number of discussions with the city of Milwaukee regarding bat testing. Our WI ASA people have been working with them very closely the last10 months or so and they have asking a number of questions on how to handle things. They have been very appreciative.

The city has also been asking some techical questions on umpire questions and WI ASA through has through it umpire crew back to them with answers and references of the answers in a very short period of time. WI ASA has a lot resourses you can use. You can't just go and buy a bat testing machine from Easton with being affiliated with ASA or some association. Those stickers used on approved bats for ASA after you locally test them whork quite well. You remove the sticker and it will leave a mark showing it was tampered with.
WI ASA at our state meeting will also start testing testing bats at the JO Olmpic girls fast pitch state tournaments this summer. A few years ago we didn't think it was an issue at state, but unfortunately that issue is prevalent at the youth level and it brought a lot of discussion at the fall state meeting.
For Adult slow oitch there is a new yellow ball that will be available for national tournment that I was introduced to a few weeks ago. I don't recall the core or the compression, but it was a Worth ball with asignificant difference in core and compression.

I like the bucket idea. Wish it never came to that, I blame the bat companies. Aluminum bats were plenty good, but that is a discussion for a different day. As far as the teams go I can say this. I work all day and all I want to do is get out and play some softball. I want to grab my glove, put in a chew, and have some fun with some buddies. I know I may have talked shit last year and pissed people off and I am sorry for that, I was unemployed and hated life. If the teams like that unicom or rpg or whoever else you guys mentioned dont want to play in the upper so be it. They are there to take some hacks, maybe grab a beer after, and go back to their lives. Shit I would wear shorts every game if it wasnt such a big deal to people. I know people look at it differently, but I see it as we are all there to get that competitive fix. Some need to play the best competition, while others have fun playin with some buds. Am I one to judge what they decide? If we only have two teams in the power league I am fine with it. The fact is the old days I hear about with the tv cameras and what not are over with and will never come back. Its just added stress to worry about if a couple teams will move to the power league or not. Good luck to everyone this year, I hope nobody gets hurt and we all have some fun. I will be out there with a chew acting goofy/gay as shit no matter what team is out there.

Softball has become more and more recreational the last few years.
Make it fun season.

Guess my bats really aren't that hot Josh, they all passed! Even my recoil passed, funny that passed though because so many people were talking shit about that one, can't wait to hear the excuses this summer

I am looking for a men's softball league to join in Milwaukee. Are there any fall leagues? I can't seem to find any on Google. I just moved here and am looking to play. Can someone give me some info? Thanks.

call the county parks office at 414-257-8030 as they can put you in contract with managers of fall teams and you can call them seeing if they have openings. otherwise if anyone on here needs a guy i'm sure they'll touch base
