Any suggestions on temperatures for bats and good cold weather bats?
I believe most bats over 60 or 65 degrees temp wont have any affect
So far the Maniac 484 is pretty nice in the cold
Mayhem didn't feel or sound right
The Recoil was okay but didn't seem to have the pop the Maniac did off it.
Please discuss

I love how this post has been read 150 times and no one has any comments? Especially in April in Wisconsin.

I use my good bat regardless (Miken Recoil). If it breaks, i got another one already broke in.
I suppose a Miken NRG would do good in the cold cuz they are logs. Maybe a Freak DST? But when it's gets below 50 degrees i don't think it makes much of a difference other than maybe swinging something else so you don't crack your good one...

DeMarini White Steel. Its a crap shoot for the weather but living along the lake shore we deal with cold weather all year long.

Bats good in cold temps (<55°F) include but not limited to.....
(Some of my favs) Synergy 2 Helmer Power SCN11BH Catalyst any ASA pre-abi Miken
Easton has a very good reputation for being durable in the colder temps overall. I can't say the same is true for the SSR2's but all the rest post abi's I have are holding up good, minus a rattle in a SRV4 with less than 100 hits.
If you can find some of the pre abi eastons, the best is the synergy 2, but any of the SCN#'s will hold up well too.
Are there any bats in particular you are wondering about?

No love for the PST? ? Actually on Monday I saw won explode with just one swing. Two 14" vertical cracks. I'll admit that's rare though.

It really comes down to what you are comfortable with. A bat you think isn't very good in cold weather may be great for someone else. You also have to take the type of ball you are hitting into account too.

Well Easton Salvo = no good for cold weather. Mine is on the way to the easton warrenty center now... Did get a chance to swing my recoils and they seemed better than any other composites that I have. My best bat(s) in the cold were the PST's. They take a beating (in 40 degrees) and are still dropping bombs...

We use the old Easton white stealth. I think from like 3 or 4 years ago. It seems to have more pop in the cold than when its warm out.
