Softball Hall to add four
The Marshfield Softball Hall of Fame has voted to add four new members on August 12, at 6:00 pm, at “Mary Rogers Field.” Guy Hautala, Terry Luepke, Ken Bertz were all very highly competitive slo-pitch stand-outs through the 1970’s and 80’s. They were the main reasons that the teams they played on were some of the most successful in the area. Andie Varsho was a four year All-State selection of the Marshfield Tigers girls fat-pitch team, as well as being the recipient of the inaugural “Pat Richter Award” as the top female 3 sport athlete in the state of Wisconsin. She has since taken her talents to Purdue University and continues to make Marshfield proud by being one of the top players in the Big Ten Conference. She will join her grandfather, Andy Varsho, who was a previous inductee. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be followed by the 2011 “Jimmy Vandehey Old-Timers Classic” which brings many past ballplayers together again on the ball diamond.
Note: this will be conjunction with MIT August 12-14 at Marshfield Fairgrounds Park which will also begin on Friday night.

Following the induction there will be a two or three innings old timer's game as well.
