it is what it is ... whether its travel cant field a team bats family it all adds up .of course as someone who plays in the majors it would be nice to get the best teams in the power leagues but there are alot of factors that come into play and its just sad that softball in general is going down hill in milw and i hope the major players in the softball world can get together and come up with a solution to this

I have the solution...
Everyone who's interested in playing in the power league pays $50 and enters themselves to be eligible.
We pick 16 coachs/captains.
Everyone meets at a bar we DRAFT teams!
Co-Commissioners Big John and Freddie read off the picks at the podium as they are made.
Who would be the #1 overall pick?
I'm going with "Juice" Foster!

In all seriousness I'm pretty sure league softball in all other areas besides ours has been dying or dead for the last 10 years. Nobody cares about league anymore in the US. They just go to get a few swings for the weekend. Maybe we should be glad that we have it better than most even though its on the decline.

As crazy as that sounds, part of it might be possible? I know of several guys that want to play at higher levels but not enough for a team. I'm sure there are enough of "those" guys out there that would like to see if they could compete? Maybe put the word out all over that anyone who would like to compete in a Power League should put their name in the hat. After a deadline, draw names to make 1 or 2 teams to fill your league. You might be suprised at how many guys come out of the wood work.

I think there would be enough guys for 6-8 teams. Problem is nobody wants to run them/find sponsors/deal with the players, etc.

I think there would be enough guys for 6-8 teams. Problem is nobody wants to run them/find sponsors/deal with the players, etc. This is the truth. I know that after running two teams for ten years I've had about enough. The only reason I do it is because I love to play ball and be around the game. And if I didn't do it none of the guys I play with would, and there would be no softball. I know I love the game because I grew up watching my Dad play and started out playing with him. And I know my son loves baseball because he comes with me to mine. I wish you guys the best of luck this year!

people can say whatever they want but at the end of the day people would rather win a garbage league than play competitively. save the tourney talk too because there are more avg teams than good ones at the typical local tourney. i look forward to seeing the same 5 people at the managers meeting on wed then hearing everyone else not show up talk about how city/county should have done this and that to make it better...

I will start my own team, called the Thundercunts, add it to the list please... who's in? With my first pick I take Adams son, Mr Robbie "balco" schultz.

You sure you don't have to pick your girl in Vegas first? I don't want you getting in trouble so early bud.

Sounds like you guys have it pretty good over on that side of the state . . .
In La Crosse our "A" leagues have one team that generally runs the table or two teams that get beat a handful of times all year . . . Holmen fields a good league, but even that is suspect. . . Like a bunch of you have said, no idea who is going to show up and who is not until game time most of the time.
"Its just league"
I hear that a ton . . . You want league to mean something, put something on the line for league championships.
