That is a pretty interesting thought. I have something kinda in the works right now but i do like how this sounds as a alternative if teams are not into going to worlds. Or possibly some of that can be incorporated.

I agree that all of you have your opinions, but how can way change the game to bring more in? It seems that softball in certain areas is dying! Why do we have to play 2 or more games just to play state? In other sactions you just have to play in a sanction tourney in order for this to happen!

do all the tournaments you play let you have a swinging strike for strike one? down here that is a rare thing. down here alot of ball is played with only one swinging strike.

Most around here are 1 looking plate and mat, or if you swing and miss. But they allow one foul ball. I recall playing down south has been a few years and a lot of them were 1 swinging anyway was an out.

This is only the second time I have ever not had a foul ball to play with in the 10+ years I have been playing tournaments . . the other was around Madison as well. It takes away a huge part of my game as I like to paint to lines . . .

Shit I havent looked on here since my first post on page one. Lets please stop arguing highball vs. the ball I play. I played college baseball and was an average hitter in games, but will stick to my self proclaimed bp all american. I personally have played unlimited once, and did ok until I met a pitcher throwing the ball to the moon. To me thats not fun because its a 3-2 game just like baseball. I retired baseball to mash on some softballs pitched underhanded (not very good at it but try) at a doable height. I prefer usssa over anything, but do love ASA as well. I give all of you that play highball credit for playing it. The only bad thing I can say is the shit talk, I have ran into a few guys in the bar that talk shit bout chuck n duck, and have seen highball teams play chuck n duck and lose. So you beat us in highball, and we beat you in chuck n duck, so shake hands n respect the other persons game but dont talk shit about the respective games either. As far as the carnival tourneys are concerned, I love em, I wish there were more of them. That being said I still will travel around the nation to play ball as much as I can too, but you never can get a better atmosphere then local drunk fans talking shit while you are hitting and then taking it out on the pitcher as a result (love it). The only problem I have with these carnival tournaments is that my team has not been let in to some of these. Dont punish us because we play a lot and have a "good team". I personally am not very good but put myself on good teams. So here is my response to you people who run carnival tourneys. Dont be such pussy's and make it a D/E tournament, step up to the plate and let us play anybody can beat anybody on any given day. If you dont make an out you cannot lose the game.
