I haven't been on the board in a while but, I've been thinking about a way to make the softball more interesting and exciting and drawing up some interest to play.
I was toying around with the Idea of running a WI Softball Circuit Kinda like the USSSA conference just a knock off and run it here. Do something like 4-5 tournies (don't have to play them all) earn points and qualify for the year end Conference finals (top 16) Hoping something like 16-32 teams would be interested in this. We could use some tournaments that already exsist (Comotose Early bird, KA Early bird, Ox and Cats tournament) for example maybe start one at New berlin VFW and Loggers. Giving teams options of places to play. Have a circuit joining fee which could cover expenses at the End of the year finals and stuff like that. Have a payout at years end of $2000 or something in the finals.
I'd like peoples opinions on this and if it teams you play on would be interested. I think this could make softball around here a little more exciting and get interest back up at all these tournaments.
who would like to get in??
Teams that have shown interest- KA Amanns Venom Burghardts Hitmen Kims Barrel Inn Over the top EPM/Stoneyard

I can organize it, wouldn't be quite like donny d because the draws would all be done by each individual tourny and the finals would be seeded on points.

Think this is a great idea. Having something like this would make it easier for teams to run tournaments. Seeding for the tournament should be based off the points system? That way it's no questions asked. What rule set would you use?
Would you try to have a couple different levels or everyone together? Think it would be pretty cool to establish something with two different levels and make it like European soccer. So 2 or 3 teams each season could earn there way up from the bottom division/ down from the top.
A few yrs back we did something like this for vball. Got all the best teams in the mid-west involved and had a tourney in each state. Was really awesome because you knew top level competition would be playing each tourney.

Early thoughts on some rules.
1. $250 entry to Circuit. Pay your own tournament entry fees. 2. $600 first place points, $300 2nd place points $200 3rd place points (based on at least 16 teams) 3. $125 entry to WSC championship. 4. 6/7 events plus WSC championship 5. House rules at all conference events (meaning that HR limits/bats may change from event to event) 6. based on 16 teams $2000 first prize at conference championship which will be seeded by points. 7. No rosters during the season however if you play on team A and only team A during conf events you may NOT play on team B in WSC championships. 8. Roster for championships will be posted and due 7 days before WSC championships. 9. If 24 teams or more (hopefully we get 32) there will be a top 16 points and bottom 16 points WSC championship. 10. 2 tournament min (not including championship)

It's a great idea - I think we should start listing teams that would be interested - exact details could be worked out at the inaugural SEWIC meeting.

Hows about posting your Playoff pool results and figuring out how you are going to get someone to a Brewers game before you try to "reinvent the softball wheel"

Same set of rules every event, except the host tournament decides which bats can be used. Keep it even throughout the whole "conference season". Give host tournament team half off entry for the Championship then for complying with the conference rules.

We could probably make that happen . . If you did Statewide events . . like adding into the mix the bigger tournaments on our side of the state as qualifier points and having events half way (IE Madison area) I think you could get more than a few teams from over hear involved

I would try contacting La Crosse, Holmen, and Sparta Park and Recs . . .
Jarod Flick in La Crosse Steve Brogan or Brad Reinhardt in Holmen Not sure who the contact in Sparta would be . . . but they host two 32 team tournaments each year that are always full. . .
To start with
